Wheeling2Help : Day 6

The day started in the best way as Luc, who works in a NGO for cycling development in Belgium, gave us maps with the route and relieved us saying that the first part of the way would be quite easy following the river towards Dinant. Indeed, he was true!

The first 28 km was one of the best routes cycling across the river in beautiful paths. The weather helped us a lot, with sun and streets full of people jogging and cycling.

We were extremely pleased of the beauty of the houses and castles next to the river which made the landscape fairytale!

Although the distance was short, we spent two hours as we made a few stops to take pictures, thus Martin who would cycle with us for the next 5 days, had already arrived to Dinant and waited us. There, we met a traveler reaching a bigger target, cycling all around the world!

Passing this place, the hard part was ahead. For the first time, the up hills where so sharp and long. The landscape was fantastic once again, but honestly I haven’t met such up hills in my life. Patience, courage, positive thinking and little by little we made it  :)

After 98 km we arrived in Libramont, where we were quite surprised. Manolis Zervakis and his family run a Greek restaurant in this small town, offering delicious food and great atmosphere! The welcome was warm and after having fresh raki, we forgot the up hills of the day!
